Road Trip Bucket List

Well I think I have finally been bitten by the travel bug. I'm the type of person who gets really anxious traveling (I hate flying and I don't like being away from the comforts of home) but lately all I want to do is plan and book trips! I figured since I don't have that much experience traveling that it would be great to start out small. Why not plan a couple of road trips that don't require me getting on a plane and only take about a full day of driving to reach. Some of you may be thinking that driving for 24 hours straight sounds like pure hell, but it's actually my prefer method of travel. As a kid my family and I went on road trips all the time and I think that is why I love them so much. There's something to be said about driving through the mountains when you've lived your whole life in the prairies.

Anyways, I came up with a list of destinations and things I want to try in the next few years. The great thing about road trips is that you can plan them out so that you save a lot of money, you can see multiple destinations in one trip, and they can be really flexible since you have your own car with you at all times. I hope you enjoy!

1. See the red mountains in Utah

2. Take an outdoor yoga class in Boulder

3. Camp under the stars in Yosemite National Park

4. Visit Portland and try as many vegan restaurants as I can

5. Go kayaking in Jasper

6. Rent an airbnb in the Grand Canyon

7. Visit the Lake of the Woods and Kenora

8. Watch a storm in tornado alley

9. Rent a tiny home in the forest

10. Go to Seattle and shop at a farmers market

What are some of your must see road trip destinations? Do you prefer road trips over flying abroad?
