How To Use Gemstones as Home Decor

I don't know about anyone else, but I am obsessed with gemstones.  I like to use them while I practice yoga and meditation, to use around the house and of course to display as beautiful house decor.  Even if you are sceptic of gemstones and crystals and their healing power, that's totally OK! You can still enjoy their beauty by incorporating them into your home and simply loving the way they look.

When I first started buying gemstones and crystals I was always unsure what to do with them. Where do you put them? How do you display them? Is there a certain way to display them in your home that has meaning? I came up with 3 steps that you can take to make sure you are getting the most out of your crystals and that you can enjoy their full potential.

1. Place your crystals around your home according to the meaning of the crystal.  OK so if you are a crystal and gemstone sceptic this one may not be for you, but I encourage you to try it out! You really have nothing to lose.  So for example I love amethyst stones and I try to place them in our bedroom and around the bed because it is said that amethyst can help you get a better sleep.  Another example could be, placing rose quartz in your bathroom or next to a large mirror for self-confidence.  Do a little research and find the perfect spot for your stones that make sense.

2. Use accessories to add a little something extra to your gemstones.  Sometimes it can feel really weird, and even look weird, to just place a stone on your end table and call it a day.  To make your gemstones feel less awkward put them in a pretty glass case, a bowl with some sand, or a fancy china plate.  Get creative at displaying your crystals, I always use Pinterest for inspiration.

3. Lastly, make sure you "cleanse" your crystals. So again, if you are a sceptic this one may seem totally odd but I always enjoy doing it.  When you buy crystals from the store you never know where they've been and the people who have come into contact with them.  Since crystals all have their own unique vibrations you want to make sure that they are "clean" of any negative energies they may have picked up on their travels to your lovely home.  There are many ways to cleanse your crystals but the easiest way is to simply set them out into the sunlight or the moonlight for as long as you can.  This will make sure your crystals only give off the energy you intend for them.

I absolutely love the way crystals add an extra sparkle to my home decor and I challenge you to try and incorporate them into you life.  How do you incorporate crystals into your home?
