5 House Plants That Will Clean The Air

Do you guys love houseplants as much as I do? They are so pretty and make any home feel so fresh and lovely. Not only do house plants look amazing but they also make the air in your home cleaner and more pure. House plants will actually absorb toxic chemicals in the air through their leaves and roots while expelling fresh air back into the air. It's a win win situation for us! I wrote below 5 plants that we have in our home that are known for their amazing air cleaning abilities. Of course most, if not all, house plants will clean the air because they are just that amazing but the ones I have listed below are just that much better at it. Enjoy!

1. Aloe
Did you know that Aloe Vera is actually a type of succulent? Who knew! This plant is not only great at cleaning the air but it comes with it's own medicinal goo, for lack of a better word, that is amazing to use on your skin. Aloe is such a versatile plant to have in your home and we love ours.

2. Ivy
There are many different kinds of Ivy plants out there and they are all so pretty. Ivy plants are really good at purifying the air of toxic chemicals and they look beautiful the way they grow into a hanging plant.

3. Bamboo
Not only do Bamboo plants do a great job at cleaning the air but they are also really easy to take care of.  I personally forget to water mine all the time and it still grows so much! Bamboo is also known as the "good luck plant" which makes it extra special.

4. Spider Plant
This plant is by far one of my favourite house plants that we have in our home. Why do spider plants remind me so much of my childhood in the 90's? Is that why I love them so much? Ha!

5. Bonsai Trees
Bonsai trees are definitely more Eric's passion than mine but they are still very beautiful. These plants definitely require a lot more work and love but they are so pretty and totally worth it! They also make great air purifiers.

I hope this inspires you to go out and find a house plant you love! It will make you happy and it will make your home that much cleaner and happier too.
